Pick a thread below to start chatting it up with uncle Al. Anybody can join any thread they want as long as they behave themselves. You don’t need to sign up or sign in, just enter your name so Al knows who the heck he is talking with. Al should be checking these daily if this catches on.

What is Jitsi?

This is like Skype, but it is open source, which makes it better. It is completely free to use. Just hit the button below to start your video call with Big Al. If you hit the button without coordinating it with Al, you will simply enter the call alone…try it out. Actually, you can have anyone go to this website and hit the button to join the video call, but if you are talking with Al, his slow internet will most likely limit the connection to just two people.

Problems connecting?

Due to Big Al’s slow internet connection it is recommended that you open the three dotted menu at the bottom right of the video call screen and then click on “manage call quality”. It will most certainly have to be turned down to “low quality”. If you are still having problems connecting with Big Al, you may also want to try to just use the video portion by muting the microphones and talking over the regular land line.
