Update, Thursday at 5pm is the viewing and prayers at the Catholic Church, no Mass, but people will be invited to the front of the church to speak if they choose to do so. Friday at 11am is the traditional Catholic Mass, about 1hr long, no viewing of the body. Reception to follow at 1:30PM at the white valley community hall in Lumby.

Hello Jean and family. We are so very sorry for your loss. We wish we could be there to give you all hugs. I pulled out my photo book yesterday of my trip to your place in 2011. My husband Grant and I came up for a few days to visit. I had a few pics of uncle Al in there and just had to laugh at the memories I had with him. I remember when we went to leave Al wanted to take us down this logging road in our rented minivan. I thought he had lost his mind!… Read more »

I see the stock market is showing some signs of the coronavirus stress. Dropped over a 1000 points. We are watching to see what happens today. Gold is doing good hopefully silver will follow. My sister Ann is learning how to run the dialysis machine so that I can get a break. I am going to order the new roof today, still need to ask some questions about what is better, metal roof or shingles.

Snow again this morning, but it got cold the last few days and now it is warming up to right around freezing. My Granddaughter Laynee has horse riding lessons at an arena further down the road, What a barn they have, kitchen, stables and all. Cobblestone breezeway along the stables. Just like in the movies. But the house is an old renovated cow milking station. Like all farmers they put the monies in the farm building, house is comfortable. Greg and Amanda had their little boy, he has no name yet but he was eight pounds eight oz. Very calm… Read more »

hi alan n jean.
noyhing much to report. snow is all but gone. mid 40’sf. coming this week with three days of rain. yes, you all have a big yard n property. I imagine that it will take some work to get it straightened up after the storm damage. you can usethat for firewood I hope? moms doing ok, don’t have a new hemoglobin report. she seems to be getting more aurgumentive each day though. and its funny, just the littlest things set her off. well, I have bills to pay, then some loafing to do. later

Jean Goettemoeller
Jean Goettemoeller

She did have fifteen puppies but two died due to the length of her labour, 24 hrs. Our snow is melting fast as well but we are still having the just below freezing temps that is slowing it, but at least that keeps the muddiness down. I will have all kinds of work in the spring due to all the trees down from the windstorm in Oct. Bill and Tyler already spent two days with falling the leaners and skidding all the downed trees into the field. They had an open window of four days when the ground was frozen… Read more »

It just keeps snowing here. Sitting at around 0 degrees Celsius , which is just freezing here in Canada. Alan is feeling so much better now that his meds have been changed. So anyone can call him now and he is more with the world. His anxieties are gone. Lesson here is do not use pharmaceutical drug unless absolutely needed.

charles goettemoeller

The first phase roof is from the farming years so it is a different profile. Time to renew it. So I am replacing all but the new living room, but I can pay extra to renew that as well, The shop will stay orange. Would you change the color?

charles goettemoeller
charles goettemoeller

good morning. couldn’t sleep ( again) so I thought id check in. moms ok, but her hemoglobin? is ok, but down from last check a month ago. as for the roof, are you replaing it all, or just damaged part? does it need painted anyways? is the settlement enough to fix it, can you repair it yourself n pocket whats left over? alan, jean have a good day. oh, we are having a January- february week. a few degrees either side of freezing, cloudy n gloomy. later

Jean Goettemoeller

Thanks for the update Charlie, Alan said he had sent you a reply but I see he did not. Always having to babysit him. It is now above freezing here and having to remove the slushy stuff as we are breaking through on our driveway. There was just so much snow this winter, but I think we are through the worst of it. The windstorm that hit us in October resulted in a $40,000 insurance claim. I guess I am getting a new roof put on the house. Any ideas as to what colour, should I stay with orange as… Read more »
